Welcome! This Spring,  Year 4 will be learning all about the Anglo-Saxons. We will focus on the end of the Roman Empire and how the Anglo-Saxons settled in Britain. We will also be learning all about South Africa, focusing on the importance of race and equality.

In English, we will be reading a range of fantastic books such as ‘Anglo Saxon Boy’, ‘Journey to Jo’burg’ and ‘The Butterfly Lion’. Year 4 will be writing non-chronological reports, biographies and stories!

In Maths, we will continue looking at multiplication and division. After, we will look at length and perimeter.

In Science, we will start by studying sound. We will investigate how sound waves are made and study the inventor, Alexander Graham Bell. After, we will study electricity. We will make complete circuits and identify how to keep safe when using electricity.

In RE, we will be thinking about the following questions:

Sikhism
How do Sikhs put their beliefs about equality into practice?

Judaism
What does it mean to be free?
