Year 4
Welcome! This Autumn, Year 4 will be learning all about the Romans. We will focus on the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain. We will learn about Julius Caesar’s attempted invasion in 55-54 BC and the revolt against Roman rule by Boudica.
In English, we will be reading ‘The Land of Roar’ and writing stories inspired by ‘Star in the Jar’ and ‘The Wolves in the Wall’.

In Maths, we will be looking at place value before moving on to the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
In Science, we will start by studying plants and the digestive system. We will investigate what plants need to grow and how water is transported around a plant as well as looking at why our digestive system is important.


In RE, we will be thinking about the following questions:
Christianity
What kind of world did Jesus want?
Sikhism
How does the teaching of the Gurus move Sikhs from dark to light?
PE is on Wednesdays
