At Meriden CE Primary School, inclusivity is fundamental to our mission. We believe every individual is a gift from God, providing each member of our school community the chance to discover their potential and purpose. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional support and resources for all students. As a Nurture UK school, we integrate the six principles of Nurture into our practices. We acknowledge that every child has unique needs, talents, and abilities, and we adapt tasks as necessary to ensure all students can access the curriculum and their fullest potential. Children may be placed on the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities register, accompanied by a One-page Profile and Support Plan detailing their goals and the actions needed for support. When needed, we may refer to external support agencies. We also assist children and parents in managing behavioural concerns, implementing strategies to help students develop the skills necessary for self-management and responsibility. Our aim is to enhance the self-esteem of all our children and equip them with the to thrive both in and out of school, while striving to close the attainment gap between SEND and non-SEND pupils through targeted interventions, before-school groups, nurture groups, personalized learning plans.
