Intent
A high quality languages education should foster children’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. We are committed to ensuring that competence in another language enables children to interpret, create and exchange meaning within and across cultures. This should foster an appreciation of how God created us all to be unique, yet connected through common core values.
Learning another language also helps children develop skills and a new way of thinking that will open further opportunities later in life. The teaching of French in KS1 and KS2 provides an appropriate balance of spoken and written language and lays the foundations for further foreign language teaching at KS3
Our studies of the French language will explore many topics of conversation, including; greetings, seasons, hobbies, school life, and holidays.
